In 2023, my husband and 2 young children acquired a 3.5-hectare farm in Central Portugal. Although it had been neglected for quite some time, we recognized the incredible potential it held and the wonderful possibilities that lay ahead for transforming this blank canvas into something truly special.
OUR ENTERPRISES
TREE NURSERY
We grow from seed Nitrogen-fixing trees which contribute to the well-being of various life forms by enhancing soil fertility and improving tough environmental conditions. These trees typically have deep roots, enabling them to access nutrients from deeper soil layers. Their consistent shedding of leaves enriches soil biodiversity, ultimately fostering greater plant growth.
KITCHEN GARDEN
Our main objective is to produce nutrient-dense food while also revitalizing the soil and enhancing biodiversity on our farm. The food we cultivate not only supports Talia's services but also fulfills our family's daily needs, whether it's for creating something fresh or for long-term storage and preservation.
PIGS
We raise Kunekune pigs. They are special because they are the only grazing pig. Unlike other pigs, they don't churn up the land.
